Warren Lyle Millard, 92, of Harrison passed away Sunday, October 7, 2012 at his home. Warren was born September 1, 1920 in Gladwin, Michigan, the son of William and Lovica (Sursaw) Millard. He served his country in the United States Navy during World War II. Warren was united in marriage to Mary Ellen (Horton) on July 26, 1946 at the Gladwin Methodist Church, Gladwin.
Warren had resided in Harrison since 1946, coming from Gladwin. Mr. and Mrs. Millard built and operated the former Budd Theatre in Harrison for many years. Warren worked for Dow Chemical for 25 years before retiring in 1981. He enjoyed many outdoor activities, including hunting, fishing, working in his garden and caring for his yard.
Surviving Warren is his loving wife of sixty-six years, Mrs. Mary Ellen Millard of Harrison, one daughter, Sharene Dancer and husband Lee of Harrison, six grandchildren: Mike (Allison) Millard-Stenbeck, Amanda Perry , Scot (Alana) Millard, Teresa (Ian) Humphres, Becky (Kris) Reinhardt and Tony (Melanie) Dancer, seven great-grandchildren, plus nieces and nephews. Warren was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Mr. William Warren Millard, one sister, Pauline Peters and one brother, Lester Millard.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service for Warren will be held Saturday, October 13, 2012 at 4:00 p.m. from Stocking Funeral Home, Harrison.
