Winifred R. Field

Winifred R. (Williams) Field of Clare, age 93 passed on to be with her Lord November 21, 2012 at her ancestral home on Herrick Road. Winifred was born the daughter of the late Raymond and Viola (Barber) Parrish on December 18, 1918 at her ancestral home. She graduated from Clare High School in 1936 and married the late Harold Williams of Lansing in 1937. She was united in marriage to Fredrick Field from Lansing on August 5, 1955 with him predeceasing her on November 11, 2007 and returned to Clare to live her last year at her beloved family farm.

Winifred was a person of many talents and skills. As a young girl she learned how to live with the land. As an adult she worked 30 years for the City of Lansing at the Department of Parks and Recreation. She taught many different Arts and Crafts, her favorites were weaving and ceramics. After retiring she enjoyed jewelry making, stamp art and reading. But her first passion was deer hunting, fishing and of course her stunning flower gardens. To know her was to love her, she was a very special lady who brought grace and beauty to all the lives she touched and her memory will leave a permanent imprint on the hearts of all who met her.

Winifred is survived by two daughters-in-law, Diane (Hoffman) Williams of Clare and Marty Williams of Lansing; four grandchildren Kathy (Wayne) Hofacer of Weidman, Debbie (Don) Cunningham of Traverse City, Laura (Chris) Hauser of Lansing and John (Jenny) Williams of Lansing; 7 great grandchildren Ken Pacholka of Oscoda, Shellby and Nathan Cunningham of Traverse City, Jalen, Kaylee and Alexander Hauser of Lansing and Eillie Sue Williams of Lansing; and her great great grandson Skyler Pacholka of Oscoda. Winifred was predeceased by her parents, husbands and her brother John Parrish; her three sons Gary Williams of Lansing, Gale H. Williams of Clare and Keith Williams of Lansing and a great grandson Eric A. Hauser of Lansing.

Services for Winifred took place on Monday, November 26, 2012 at the Clare Chapel of Stephenson-Wyman Funeral Home. Burial was in the Vernon Twp. Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Isabella County Commission of Aging or to Advantage Hospice. Please share an online condolence at
