The death of a Mt. Pleasant woman found in the Baymont Inn hot tub last month has been ruled accidental, Isabella County Sheriff Michael Main said in an email earlier this week.
Marie Teller, 26, was found dead in the hotel hot tub at 5858 East Pickard Road in Union Township shortly before 8 a.m. February 20th. Teller was pronounced dead at the scene by Mobile Medical Response Ambulance Service personnel.

Although the original release from Sheriff Main called it a “suspicious death,” in his email Tuesday Main said, “The victim’s toxicology came back from the lab. She had a .356 BAC (blood alcohol level) along with THC (marijuana) in her system, he said. “At this point the Sheriff’s Office has closed the case. It is our conclusion that no foul play occurred and that it was a probable accidental drowning case.”
