Young Farwell team will be tough

The Farwell wrestling team is light in returnees but has a big roster of newcomers, giving their coach plenty to be hopeful for.

“We are young with some good potential but we need to just keep working hard to get better,” Farwell head coach Ryan Cunningham said.

Returning to the team are seniors Lane Romanelli (285), Quincy Crawford (13), juniors Kurt Miester (119, 2012 state-qualifier) and Tristen Zinkiewicz (189).

New to the team are seniors Jacob Turner (152), Austin Wilson (215), sophomores Austin LaLone (112), Austin Hawley (215), freshmen Clay Forfinski (103), Trevor Johnson (103), Brenden Smith (119, youth league state champion), Justin Norbury (130), Garrett McQuiston (135), Damien Brown (140), Nick Snear (145) and Nathan Hall (285).

“Every team (in the Jack Pine Conference) has their strengths but until someone knocks off Roscommon, they are the team to beat,” Cunningham said. “If the question is who we have to look out for, I would answer everyone.”
