Four arraigned in Clare BAYANET raids

Four Clare residents are facing multiple narcotics charges after Bay Area Narcotics Enforcement team officer, Clare County deputies and officers from the Clare Police Department “raided” three locations in Clare June 19.

Armed with warrants, officers arrested the suspects at a home on the north end of Clare, at a Fifth Street address and at a residence on Sixth Street in Clare that Wednesday after a lengthy investigation by BAYANET deputies.

Joel Thomas McDonald, of a Wilcox Parkway address, was charged with two felony counts of Controlled Substance – Delivery of Marijuana, each a four year felony and or $20,000 fine; one count of Maintaining a Drug House, a High Court Misdemeanor with a penalty of two years and/or a $25,000 fine; and Habitual Offender – Second Offense with a penalty of one and one-half times the maximum sentence of the primary offense or a lesser term. McDonald was convicted in Isabella County for Attempted Larceny in January, 2011.

Michael Robert Wright, of Fifth Street, was charged with one count of Controlled Substance – Delivery/ Manufacture of Norco, a felony punishable by seven years and/or $10,000 fine; one count of Controlled Substance – Delivery Manufacture of Xanax, a felony punishable by four years and/or $2,000 fine; and with Habitual Offender – Third Offense with a penalty of twice the maximum sentence on primary term or a lesser term. Wright was convicted of Weapons-Firearms-Larceny in April, 1999 in Eaton County and convicted of Home Invasion – 3rd Degree in March of 2005 in Isabella County.

Elizabeth May Hicks, of Wilcox Parkway, was charged with one count each of Controlled Substance – Delivery Manufacture of Methadone, Hydromorphone and Morphine. Each felony charge has a penalty of seven years and or $10,000 fine. She was also charged with Controlled Substance – Maintaining a Drug House, a High Court Misdemeanor punishable by two years and/or $25,000.

David Allen Osborn, of Wilcox Parkway, was charged with two counts of Controlled Substance – Delivery/Manufacture of Dilaudid, each felony punishable by seven years and/or a $10,000 fine; and with one count of Controlled Substance – Delivery/Manufacture of Morphine, a felony punishable by seven years and/or $10,000 fine.

Bond for each of the four suspects was set at $150,000/10 percent Cash Surety. They all remain lodged at the Clare County Jail.
